糸口
大原奈緒子
mh PROJECT_ノコギリニ、2025年春のプロジェクトは、大原奈緒子によるサイト・スペシフィック・インスタレーション「糸口」です。大原がインスタレーション作品を完成させてゆく約２ヶ月半の制作過程（プロセス）を鑑賞していただけます。
人々の暮らしを支えた三要素「衣、食、住」のひとつでもある「衣」。人々が纏う生地の毛織産業で栄えた街、一宮市、旧平松毛織工場内（のこぎり二）にあるmh PROJECT空間で、大原はいくつもの古着を紐解き「顔」を形造ります。
顔は、私たちの感情や記憶に深く結びつく特別な存在です。木の節目や、物の配置が偶然にも目や鼻、口を想起させるとき、私たちはそこに恐怖や親しみといった様々な感情を抱きます。それは、顔という形が持つ象徴的な力ゆえでしょう。
古着の結目や縫い目をほどき、再び糸として繋ぎ紡ぎ直す行為を繰り返し、大原は古着に宿る生命的な「何か」を具現化するため、顔という普遍的かつ表顕的な形へと昇華させます。そして鋸屋根元工場の空間で新たな「カタチ＝顔」を得たたゆたう解かれた糸。その一瞬一瞬が古着に宿る生命性を探る糸口になればと願うプロジェクトです。
「糸口」の展示前半では、その形が少しづつ生まれていく過程をご覧いただき、後半では香りを交えながら、完成へと向かう「顔」の輪郭を捉えてみてください。

大原奈緒子、ビジュアルアーティスト、名古屋市在住。 一度はゴミになっても再生する古着に生命的な"何か"を感じ取り、生命感を問い直す探求を始め る。2017年より《post-vintage》プロジェクトを立ち上げ、物事の関係性を可視化し、そこに宿るエ ネルギーの在り方を模索している。 2018年から2020年にかけては、オリンピックをテーマに様々なアーティストとコラボレーションし、 古着を素材としたシリーズ作品を発表。その後、表現の枠を広げ、インスタレーション、映像、彫 刻など多様な表現方法を用いた作品を展開。 2021年、小牧市アートプロジェクト(愛知)にて映像・彫刻作品を出展。同年、映画「プリテンダー ズ」へ衣装提供し、公開時には吉祥寺アップリンクギャラリー(東京)にて衣装を用いたインス タ レーションを発表した。2022年、MATSUO MEGUMI +VOICE GALLERY pfs/w(京都) グループ展"our code"へ映像・ 3DCG作品を出展。2024年にはヴィンテージ家具店NO AGE(愛知)にて個展”不在”を開催。名古屋大須にて古着屋「rhythm.war*p」営む。

Spring 2025, mhPROJECT_Nokogirini is pleased to present a site-specific installation "Itoguchi" by Naoko Ohara. In this project, a viewer will see a process of creating an installation taking about two and a half months to complete.
Clothing is one of the three elements that support people’s lives: clothing, food and housing. mhPROJECT is located in a former woolen factory, and produced fabrics to wear. In the space, Ohara unravels a number of old clothes and creates a “face’. The face is a special entity that is deeply connected to our emotions and memories, such as fear and familiarity, when joints of a tree or the arrangement of objects happen to remind us of eyes, noses, and mouths.
In order to embody the vitality that dwells in old clothes, Ohara repeatedly undoes knots and seams, ties them together as a single thread, and re-spuns them, sublimating them into universal and expressive facial shapes. Ohara hopes that the moment when second-hand clothes, given a new lease of life, sway in the space, will serve as a clue to exploring the vitality that resides within them.
In the first half of the exhibition, you can see the process of gradually taking shape, and in the second half, you can capture the outline of the "face" as it approaches completion, along with the scent of the fragrance.

Naoko Ohara is a Japanese visual artist, lives and works in Nagoya, Japan. In 2017, she launched the “post-vintage” project to visualize the relationship between things and explore the nature of energy that resides in them. From 2018 to 2020, she will collaborate with various artists on the theme of the Olympics and present a series of works using vintage clothing as material. After that, Ohara will expand the framework of her expression and develop works using various methods of expression such as installation, video, and sculpture. In 2021, Ohara exhibited at the Komaki City Art Project (Aichi). In the same year, she provided costumes for the movie “Pretenders” and presented a costume installation at Kichijoji Uplink Gallery, Tokyo. 2022, MATSUO MEGUMI +VOICE GALLERY pfs/w, Kyoto, Japan, for the group exhibition “our code”. In 2024, she held a solo exhibition “Absence” at NO AGE in Aichi, Japan. Ohara owns a clothing store “rhythm.war*p”
